Realizing a difference

If you were the very best at doing that job, and you do it better than anyone else out there for the next 20 years —how many of you will you be able to retire at the end of those 20 years with your dream lifestyle?” I look around and rarely does a single hand go up. I follow up with, “So what you are telling me is that there is no chance that your job will ever provide you with the lifestyle you dream about? Even if you were the very best at it, you still won’t achieve your dreams in 20 years? Yet you still give that job 8-10 hours every day, going down that road, knowing there is no light at the end of the tunnel?” And the looks on their faces are always of enlightenment mixed with dismay.
